Spent sometime on my local patch today and bumped into Phil H. I went to get some more bee orchid images to improve on my previous efforts. So whilst I spent an hour or so with these little beauties,Phil went off to play with the damselflies:)

My first attempt at focus stacking.... a group of four. Had to take the images inbetween the gusts, but am reasonable happy with the result, as I find these very difficult to capture.

40D,180mm,ISO 100, f6.3,f8,f10,f14 combine zm, CS4. Cloned out a greenfly

Regards to all,

very nice image, it almost looks reflected at the bottom though, was it standing in water?

The plant stands out very nice, not easy to realize such a clean BG.
Fine job Fran,

Thanks for your comments all.

Jack, it isn't standing in water, but growing on a piece of grassland. The pink blob you see at the bottom, is another flower head which I had considered cloning out, but decided to leave it as seen.

Regards,

Fran

Nice, I wouldn't have guessed it was focus stacked.

Hi Fran.
Don't know much about flowers but this looks like a very nice image to me.
