Hello everyone,

thanks for all the feedback and page views on my previous hobby shot. Here's the latest in my ongoing summer project/obsession with the local hobbies. I don't know what it's eating but there's a little bit of debris to the right of the bird's foot that I've left in. This is the same bird with the injury shown in my previous post.

Technical details:
D90; 200-400 @ 400mm; F8; 1/2500th second; ISO200. Cropped slightly (to improve composition); levels, curves etc adjusted in ACR and CS3.

Cheers,
Rob

An excellent capture which many will envy, a tad large in the frame for me, but that’s all too easy to fix.

If intended as a stand alone image, I would remove the debris as it needs explanation, for “Joe public”.

As I said, an excellent shot, spot on in all departments.

Hi Rob. Another fantastic shot, but again I feel you could lift the levels a little bit to give some extra punch in the shadows. Having said that, I'm really jealous of this.

Gosh! Wish I had anything half as good of any bird of prey. Top Shot :toast:

A great moment captured Rob, but needs some extra processing I feel. :toast:

Major, David and Ray - thanks for the feedback; thanks to all those who've had a look.

Sounds like I need to go back to my "Photoshop for Dummies" book and do some more work. I do think there's a diamond of a picture in there trying to get out that will do justice to these birds - I just need to work out how to polish it properly.

Superb work Rob and agree about the processing.. I'm sharing your thoughts about the diamond in the rough. A pleasure to meet you at the weekend and look forward to seeing more from you..
