One from this morning, are these common or are we just more observant?

I don't think they are common, probably patchily distributed. They do seem to be having a good year though.Nice shot btw.

An excellent portrait, would do well in an I.D. book, has all the aspects of a studio shot.

Very nicely done Tim. They dont appear to be to common and in some years they just do not appear at all. My recent shot had over 100 spikes all together something I have never seen before. :toast:

Congrats, Tim, on a really well put together image - the flower is in top condition, the diffuse background makes a perfect foil and the shot is well executed technically.

Cheer,
Chris

Well spotted that Andy, it was ISO 280.

Thanks all for comments

Very well executed shot there Tim.. One of the best I've seen so far.. A difficult subject to get all in focus but this seems to be an example of how it's done..
