RMNP Moab Get-Together?

Anyone interested in a possible RMNP gathering here in Moab some time this year? Back in the day when Scott and I moderated the forum we'd arrange a few get-togethers each year (anybody remember the Rocky Mtn. NP backpacking trip?). It was always a blast and it's a tradition I'd like to see started up again.

I'm happy to host one in Moab, if there's enough interest. Maybe in the fall...when the leaves are changing, the temps are mild and the tourists are thinning out?

Moab eh.... hmmm... not much to photograph over there.... HECK YES! I,m interested especialy after it cools off.

I reckon I could stop there on my way to someplace better.

Bummer, doesn't look like enough people are interested in coming to Moab.

I'll start working on a date and will get the info. posted up here soon. It will be in the Sept./Oct. time frame. Fall colors in the La Sals are Sept. while the desert starts getting really nice in Oct./Nov. Any preference as to the month?

I would vote for end of Sept / Begiining of October since I will be in Colorado at that time

Gee, I dunno. It's all of a 4-hour drive from here!

I think I can handle a 1.5 hr. drive.
But I'd definitely prefer an Oct. date.

Sounds like a real arm-twister. I'd love the excuse!
Depending on number of days, etc. It might be nice to time it around when many of us will be hitting the San Juans just so we can combine multiple destinations into one trip.

Anytime, me being new to Utah I figure a lot of you know the best time to photograph the Southwest better than I.

First week or 2 of October is prime time in the San Juans so I'd probably stay away from that.

I've got vacation scheduled for the first two weeks in October, and no set plans, so I would have to definitely consider something in that time frame. Other times are possible, too.

I plan to be out in Moab sometime in October anyway. If I'm out at the same time as others, I could volunteer to lead a group to Covert Arch and some other lesser-known arches in that area.

Second half of October would work best for me. I don't want to ditch my brand spanking new husband for a photo trip with a bunch of dudes right after the wedding
