Just wanted to get a feel for what some of your thoughts are about the lens. I have an Olympus E-510 and have found that it seems very touchy. Sometimes the edges are a little fuzzy and I have found that if my settings are off just a little, it will not take a really sharp image. Keep in mind that I'm a novice photographer and may not even know exactly how to use the lens the way it should be.

Here is a link to some of my shots I have recently taken with the lens. I just wanted to get a warm feeling that I have made a good choice.

I hvae used this lens before. Not the latest version though. My biggest gripe with this lens is the lack of IS. I had the canon 70-200/4 non-IS and while no IS for that was manageable, sigma which noticeably heavier should have had IS (but I guess sigma is competing with the canon's non-IS version of the 2.8).

Also the shots composed with the sigma at 2.8 was noticeably softer than the canon's.
That said, sigma is a very very good choice. First off, I love and prefer the black color over the canon whites. At other apertures, the sigma does a great job. I would definitely recommend adding a good quality polarizer to get a needed punch for your shots.
The sigma also diffuses the background beautifully.

I would surely say this is a very good choice.
