Snowy Egrets and Black Crowned NH
Here are a few more shots from the shoot at City Park in Denver. I also included a couple of chicks. I found the nests very hard to shoot because of all the twigs and shadows. I attempted at using a flash to get rid of shadows, but I keep having problems blowing out the eyes. I used a 430ex with a better beamer. I was usually set around -2 1/3 to -3 and still having issues. Not sure what I am doing wrong since I am new to using flash. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. More of these can be found at my website.

That's a great series of some beautiful birds, Kurt.

As far as flash in the eyes - people who use flash in my area mount the flash off-camera to avoid that issue.

Those shots turned out great. I like the interaction between the adults and the chicks.

These are sweet Kurt!. I particularly like #1 and #6, though the brighter branches in #6 are a slight distraction, but it is tough shooting birds without "any" kind of distractions in a tree/nest situation!.
