Another from my recent trip and showing the snake as it came up for air after being submerged for about 10-15 mins..! It lined up with the frog in the BG just nicely but I wanted the emphasis to be on the snake. I would have liked a tongue flick but as it wasn't in predatory mode at this point it didn't happen. Anyway, just another NH shot to my collection and thought I'd share. The snake is the European viperine snake (Natrix maura) and the frog is one of the 'Green' or 'Water' frogs (Rana ridibunda sp.). Many of these frog species are hybridogenetic so it's difficult to say exactly which exact or mix of species they are originated from.

Nice capture, in an ideal world would have liked more interaction between the snake and the frog, but would be more than happy with this. Well seen/worked and taken.
