Great Bustard
Not a UK bird regrettably but one from a trip to Extramadura in early April when the males are in full throttle display mode. Quite a spectacle to see but not quite close enough to my hide, although my father got lucky. On my final 15 hour stint in the hide I had a male take off right in front of me, which offered something a little different.

Good looking shot Mark. 15 hour stints in a hide do take it out of you though.

That's a bit different! They only ones I've seen posted have big numbered tags on them. I like it! 15 hrs? I got mighty uncomfortable after 2!

Certainly worth your time in the hide.... all it takes is one shot and you have nailed it here

15 hours fades in the memory, good shots last for ever - it's a simple calculation in my book!!

Nice one.

A superb capture of this bird in flight.. Very well seen, composed and executed. The time spent was really worth it IMO.. Nice one.
