I snapped this image about a year ago at Montana De Oro SP. The sunset was fairly undramatic so I did what many of you have done and turned the camera the other way.

Mike, the battered rocks leading to the eroded cliffs make this compostion really dramatic. The colors look great too.
If you ever plan on heading out there again give a heads up and maybe we can meet up there. Montana de Oro is my favorite place to shoot.
I like the sweeping composition. Ordinarily I might consider the foreground a bit too strong an element for my tastes, but the cloud patterns really balance it out nicely.
Excellent! Used to be my old stomping grounds while in college in San Luis Obispo... Is that Mt. Madonna in the background?
Great use of lines in the foreground. The light is soft and wonderful. The only suggestion I have would be a slight crop of the sky just to emphasize the foreground a bit more. but that's minor - excellent composition.

The color and texture of the water really catches my eye. The tones on my monitor look better than your recent print of the same image.
