I talked Kalin into heading back up to Goose Creek TH last night and made a few more images. Just a couple from the DSLR.

Sunset over the burn.

I'm not working on a calibrated monitor right now, and the foreground is much darker than I intended. Hopefully you can see the blue draped over the hills.

This one from the LX-3 at 60mm (eqv)

Ditto Jody's kudos! These are great (except the dark fg one you mentioned). These are really, really nice.

I'd love to see the first one really large. The splashes of blue are great.

Cool. I hope the 4x5 stuff comes out as nice!

I'm sure the small JPEG just doesn't do #1 justice. VERY nice!

Good stuff, Mel, i especially like the first one. I drove a bit up Goose Creek on my way to Evans on Wed, only saw a couple of patches of lupines on the drive up, was totally unimpressed by the wildflowers. I guess if i had more time i could have found some nice patches.

Love #1, the patchwork of blue really tells a story!
