Just come back from a trip doing seabirds and during the evenings on one island I was blessed with good weather and the wind was in the right direction to try and get puffins in flight with the backlighting producing a wonderful glow, only problem was my reflexes which are getting slower and slower and my success rate was very low.
Danny. This is stunningly good in my book. I especially like the light glowing through the wings, the richness of the colours and the eye contact. In fact I wonder if the eyes could perhaps take a little more processing (maybe brightness or saturation) to emphasise that? Brilliant stuff as usual!
Love the lighting in this shot but, for me at least, it works better if flipped on the horizontal axis. Everyone has there choice and that's mine I suppose. Otherwise it's a fine shot and not a sand eel in sight..! Look forward to more from you trip Danny.
Hi Danny, brilliant shot, after going with Andy A and Mark, I know how impossible this is!!!!!!!! I've just managed to pick up a decent second hand 1D mk 11, how did you have it set up? All AF points active? Cheers....

Great shot - much better than mine. If you hadn't been the cook I'd have pushed you over the edge of that cliff.
Looking forward to the next posts from this trip (and the next one).
Stunning

The 300 2.8 seems to be the optic of choice for getting this type of shot, seems more reponsive!
Great lighting!!
