Mt Evans - Part I
I made my first ever trip to Evans yesterday/Wed, scouted on Wed and shot sunrise from Summit Lake yesterday. I knew from the posts here that this week would be a good mix of ice and flowers (i think one of Josh's photos had me sold) and it was! Here's some from Wed, it was pouring rain and sleeting for sunset, but there wasw some storm light to work with before and after.

Couldnt find any good wildflowers in the Hayman scar on the way up (well, i might have if i had time to look) so i did a few burn photos.

More of the lake

The range was pretty cool in the Evening thunderstorm. Thats all for now, part II (sunrise) this weekend (theyre much prettier--i promise! )

"more of the lake" is my fave.

I agree with Jesse, "more of the lake" is my fav too. I like seeing the rocks under the lake. I also like the BW processing of the Hayman shot. There appears to be a little bit more snow up there (Evans) at this time than a couple of years ago when I saw a bunch of little yellow flowers on the hillsides. Not surprising with the amount of precip we've been getting!

Stan, like the composition in #1. The congruent lines bring eye into the frame. #2 suggest a little cropping on bottom and left side. Also agree on More of Lake as a challenger to #1.

MOTL + 1

Nice shots. I was up there on Tuesday skiing the north face. Sunrise seems to be hit or miss up there.

The BW burn photo is my favorite!

Good stuff, Stan. I really like the Hayman b&w, as well as both lake shots.

I really like both the lake shots, hard to pick which one I favour, but I think #1 edges it for me. I'm looking forward to seeing the sunrise shots!.

Stan, nice group of images. Really like" more of the lake".

Nice work, Stan. #1 has quite an impact visually. It's almost like it explodes out at you, then sucks you back in. I like the effect.

I agree with Paul, #1 has an explosive feel to it. I think I would crop the bottom some more though

That fist shot you posted as your favorite is awesome, excellent composition. Love the way foreground points toward distance mountains and mimics shapes of mountains.

Stan,

I love them all, but the first two do it for me. Nice job and series!

Nice shots Stan! I really like #1 the best I think. The Hayman fire shot is also a favorite - good drama in there with the dark clouds in the distance. The MOTL shot has some great elements in it like the reflection and the rocks, but my eyes never get beyond those areas of the image.

Guess I am in the minority on that one tho!

Wow, almost July, and look at all that snow, still! Very nice images. I think I like #1 the best.

Thanks for all the input, folks--now on to part II!
