Does this work?
Been busy with getting things ready for the baby, and other things, so not had a chance to get out to take pictures. This is one from earlier this year, i like the idea but i'm not sure if it works as an image.

D700 DX crop. 300mm f4 +TC.

Hi paul
yes -it certainly does for me anyway. The eye takes tou straight down to the beak end.
Good whites exposure too.

Maybe a tiny but wider but maybe not. Good stuff anyway. ( to go on the docs or dentists wall ! )
Cheers
John

Lovely close up, great detail in the whites/eye, an intimate view captured well Paul   :wavey:

A nice picture and it almost works for me. Great exposure on the whites and the only minor crit I would have is that the darkish barckground at top left tends to draw my eye.

ps still wish it was mine - minor crit or not!!

I think this works quite well but would maybe work better with a full (i.e. more direct) view of the eye. That was my first reaction when I viewed it, but others may disagree. Still a nice shot as it is.

It certainly works for me. Whilst I can agree with what has been said, it is all very subjective.
As long as you like it that is what counts.

How am I supposed to C&C images when I like them all so much?
I like this as it is and I think its a fine shot. Great detail, excellent exposure control. No nits from me.
