...at least he appears to have a bit more composure about him than the Razorbill did.

Tale of the shot is pretty much the same as the previous posting.

Now I don't know if the rock is distracting here or not - but I think the image might look a tad silly without it.

Thankfully I've got some slightly bigger BiF subjects next week - off to Norway for some sea eagle action :jump:

Question: Who's bright idea was it to call Shearwaters "Puffinus puffinus" and Puffins, well, not:confused:  - they missed a bit of a trick there didn't they..

It's cr+p like this that keeps me awake at night!

Hi
That is why in French Shearwater are called "Puffin"and the latin name is the one you gave and the bird you photograph very well is called "Macareux moine"...easy really...
Best wishes

Anothe fine image. I don't find the rock distracting in this image - instead of drawing my eye it seems to force it back into the picture and the main subject - which is pefectly exposed and sharp.

The OOF rock this time is not a distraction for me Andy.
Its funny how looking at the subject from a slightly different angle can make all the difference. :toast:

Hi Andy, Sorry to hear that your sleep is being affected. Remember photography is an obsession, not a passion so thinking whilst sleeping is to be expected....

Great picture btw and I would vote to keep the rock in the BKGR. It gives a sense of place.

Cheers

Hi Andy,

Lovely pose on the Puffin, colours and shaprness are excellent. The rock is ideal for me, as it just gives that hint of what the Puffin is coming in to land on.

Must admit though matey, find that border a bit overpowering

Regards

Rob

Oh bog off ! show off ! Just knarked I went on a troop round the island and you did the sensible thing .If I'd have known you'd nailed this A) I wouldn't have bought you an ice cream. B) I'd have let that dog eat you.

I'm with Major on this too. The rock in last post was very distracting whereas this is fine. Great pose and exposed very well. Nicely done :toast:

Yep, that works.. Comp is great on this one Andy and the the rock is a lot more subtle but adds that extra interest. Superbly executed and detailed image.

The rock is essential, without it, the puffin would just be leaping in the air shouting Boo!!
Nice to see a different puffin shot and quality everything it should be.
Nicely done as always.
