Part II from my first trip to Evans. I figured from previous Evans posts thaat this week and next would be the only opportunity to get both flowers and ice in the same shot, and it looks like i caught the first part of that window. Awesome location, Ive always hated roads on big mountains, but at least when i was there the traffic was virtually non existant, just a couple cars at Summit lake which i assume were people knocking off Evans from their 14er list, and no one at the summit! Here's one of the lake just after sunrise, there was a strip of clouds at the horizon that made it less than ideal, but it was still pretty nice.
It's a great place to shoot, especially at that time of the day.
Excellent light capture and rendition.
Where are the goats!

I like the "crazy tarn colors."

All of these are quite nice. I especially like the wide open feel of the first one.
It looks like you have a dust spot in the upper center of several of these shots.

Man, I really like your Chicago Lakes shot! The tarns across the road are cool, too. And the pink alpenglow shot. Nice stuff! That is one big block of ice, ain't it?!

You kept your promise, Stan. Great set.
I especially like the colors on the lake in #1
I like them all, Stan, but Chicago Lakes and Crazy Tarn are my faves. Really nice stuff. BTW, How do you handle the fee if you go up as early as you did? Is there a self pay station? (It's been many years since Ive been up there)
Paul, there is a self pay station, according to the website it even accepts credit cards. I came up the evening before and got there just before the station closed (6 pm)
I also like Crazy Tarn and the one you posted at ES&S.
I like the horizontal aspect of 'N-ice Flowers' here because it shows that nice curved stream of water better and shows more of the mountain, although I greatly prefer the light in the one at ES&S.
Got one with that light and this aspect?

Stan, I like them all. colors and composition are wonderful. You captured the majesty of the place. Thanks for sharing.
Another great collection Stan! I really like #1, the crazy tarn shot and then the last one. All of them are great shots though! You had a very productive morning!
I was shooting sunset last night from about that same spot as the final shot. The ice is really melting quickly, as I was shooting those same little tarns and there wasn't any ice left in them at all!
Thanks Folks!
John, unfortunately i dont have one with the horizontal aspect and light, i thought of the same thing when i was processing the shots cause i was sure i had one, but guess not. It was my first trip up there and i did a lot of running around with pretty fickle light due to the clouds on the horizon (you can see them in the Chicago lakes shot) In retrospect, i would have scouted better and picked one or two locations to focus on.
