Crestone Needle
Here's a sunrise shot of Crestone Needle, as seen from the summit of Broken Hand Peak.

The alpenglow light was a bit diffused by gaps in the clouds, so the light wasn't as brilliant red as it could have been; on the plus side it made for a more even exposure for the shadowed areas.

Looking the other way... an awesome sunrise sky!

The classic sunrise reflection shot of Crestone Needle in the lower South Colony Lake.

Are you using remote cameras now, to capture sunrise from 2 different locations at the same time? Or did you paraglide down to the lake after taking the summit shot?
1 and 3 are my favorites but 3 has the wow factor even though it is more common.

Awesome images, Jack. Having a hard time deciding which one I like best, but I don't have to, do I? lol. I love the lighting on # 3 the best, but I also really like the sky in # 2 and the in-your-face shot of the peak in # 1. Nice work.

#1 has the biggest impact for me - sweet shots all the way around.

Nice images Jack, #3 is favorite of them.

Like Dave I think #1 is my favourite, #2 being close 2nd - sweet light in all 3!.

I am also favoring #1 followed by #3 -- all of these are just awesome, Jack.

I really like the soft light in number 1. All three are very nice captures Jack.

I love the "in your face" view of Crestone Needle, but #3 is a classic for a reason. Nice stuff here, Jack.

#1 is awesome, Jack--you almost managed to get both Cottonwood and u Colony in the same shot!

These are wonderful. #1 and #3 especially.

#1 and #3 are my favorites, with an edge towards #1. It just seems a bit more dramatic to me. Good job on all of them, however.

Wow, #1 is simply amazing!! The softer light really makes this one in my opinion, evens out the exposure as you mentioned and really lets you see the fine detail on the peak. Love #3 as well - great composition.

Beautiful images Jack! I loved camping near the lake and climbing the Peak and Needle. The rugged beauty is incredible up there.

Really like the third image. Very dramatic and great reflection.
