Spent the last part of a good day of macro work with Tony & Phil photographing Marbled white butterflies.. They are really quite amenable when they roost and sit tight enabling different shots from different angles. This was taking slightly backlit from the setting sun. The site became really foggy as the evening progressed which gave a very warm diffused light.
Have a good day and enjoy the stunning weather, well here anyway..!
Thanks Phil, for some reason I am having real trouble when uploading my images at the moment.. They never appear as I first prepare them in PS.. I do the work I think needs doing then save for web & devices.. Is this the right thing to do in order to get sRGB..? If so, why when I drag the image from the screen back into PS they look completely different..? I've tried to rework a little to see if that helps.. I've gone for s lightly tighter crop as well for comp but still about 80% of frame. Comments much appreciated as are any tips or suggestions. Kind regards
The repost looks much better, personally I never use save for web but always convert to sRGB then just use the normal save as, and save as a jpg adjusting the quality till it comes under the 200kb size...

Very nice image Brett - comp on 2nd image looks good though imo not necessarily better

I think I would like to see a little more canvas on the left of the picture, but otherwise a lovely shot.

I think I prefer the re-post - but there isn;t a lot in it!
I like both and can not decide between them. I also use "save as", as saving for web strips out the exif data from your picture, use the edit tab and select convert to profile to get set srgb for web images.

Beautiful shot, lovely colours and detail. I think the second is better in terms of saturation and contrast, though I prefer the crop of the first. I use the normal 'save as' when saving for web, and as Danielle says use 'convert to profile' too. Also, we were always told a uni to never use 'assign profile' as it disregards all profile information already there, and sticks it's own figures in. Great shot!

Nice one, if a little central, I might just try a slight reduction in the contrast, a great subject well taken... shame I had to get home....

A superb image, the second of which I prefer, as it shows more detail in the butterfly. Nice one.

Think I prefer the first one actually, but can't tell on colour etc too easily until I go home to my nice calibrated display!
Impossible to fault really, looks like your filling your boots with these macro shots!
