Makes a change from “Puffin with fish”.
I spotted a rocky outcrop where the birds kept coming over, so I sat there for a couple of hours snapping away.

I wish the sky were blue, I wish the bird were elsewhere in the frame, I wish I were a better photographer, but I ain’t. Some things we just have to accept. At the speed these were coming over I was grateful to get this. I realize that the sea isn’t flat, but I don’t have enough bg to crop without losing some bird.

All and Any comments welcome.

Works ok for me where it is,considering the light it works well and the sandeel just adds to it!!!

I'd be pleased with it ( actually over the moon.but shhhh!) .I think you've covered the comp yourself , so fair play in not being tempted in adding canvas or giving it a hair cut.

Nice capture indeed and nit mentioned. Shame you can't get more detail about the eye but I'd still be happy to get one of these in my library.

At large size the eye is fine, but loses detail when brought down for posting.

As for adding canvas, I wouldn't know how, so it isn't willpower on my part but ignorance of the technique.

Nice shot, the comp isn't as bad as you think! The detail is good and the sandeel flapping in the breeze makes it! Personally I'd be pretty pleased with this!

Oh dear Mike, you sound just like me! A huge passion for photography, but also a lack of confidence in yourself.

A difficult bird to expose correctly for, but you seem to have nailed this one nicely. An image to be pleased with!! I would be!!

Nice image and not an easy bird to get good shots of, let alone with a fish. Adding canvas is easy!
Nice one

Lose a little off the bottom, apart from that I really like this.. Although the head is very dark the fish compensates for that and gives it real punch.

tightness at the top doesn't bother me that much.
