Red footed falcon preening
Just returned from a fantastic trip to Hortobagy,Hungary together with Janos Olah. Spent a lot of time with these great little raptors.

I like shots of birds preening - it gives them some character.

Perch seems a little 'odd' - were you near water or was it positioned? It gives the impression it is hanging out over it.

More please!

The perch was postioned Chris. Image was take from a purpose built hide. Red foots like these kind of bare looking perches.

Quite a nice little shot, the perch could be better.

Yeah I think I like the pose and the pruning but would prefer a different perch

Its a good image, technically very good, not sure its my cup of tea actually, whole thing looks a little awkward from a photographic perspective, interesting behaviour capture though

The colours, detail and background are superb! Perch is fine by me. The fanning tail and breast feathers are very nice indeed. I would love to see another image with "straight" shot of the head.
