and another Skipper...
I find that trying tot get the right comp on these little fellows is quite difficult as they are so small and even on the side of a seed head they look a little lost, so I tried with both landscape, portrait, close up, 'wide angle', etc.. I quite liked this one so decided to share it. Some muted colours in the evening light as they roosted. Have a good day folks..

Nice one Brett, shows how small these really are, great perch, bg and of course subject, very well taken.

I've yet to see one of these this year. I agree this shows the scale of the skipper very well. A nicely composed shot, well taken.

I think it looks very nice to be honest, I think the background is also as important as the subject here as it keeps the image soft and pleasing to look at.

very difficult to fault

Very very nice indeed. Classic pose complemented by the great perch and BG.

Simple and very restful as a result. Very effective for a 'straight' portrait.

Cheers,
Chris

I like this very much, the Skipper is detailed yet so very delicate, a lovely perch and a perfect background. Terrific shot.

Lovely colours in this shot, Brett. always a difficult subject to get the DoF right on because they rest with their wings at an angle. Ver nice.

Not quite for me, as I feel that the grass head is the dominent factor here.

Is this is a Small female? I like it, the grass head gives scale and adds to the comp beautifully.
