This is nice actually,

Real killer look in the eyes right there! very difficult to suggest any improvements to be honest.

A great image, but possibly a little room for further improvement by adjusting the shadows/highlights.

I'd love to see one of these. Lovely image, although I agree with David's suggestion. Maybe increasing the brightness might work without blowing the whites?

Well done Michael. Excellent shot of a very very difficult subject.

I prefer this shot to the last to be honest. Well caught and as has already been mentioned might stand a little more light.

Very nice, flight photography at its best.

Nice example of this bird and some nits already mentioned. Was this shot cropped from a landscape..? I think it could do with a tad more room to fly into. If not it would be easy to add a bit more canvas given the single coloured BG.

Cheers for the feedback and comments. I have a slightly different crop above. Both crops are very large crops from the original (maybe less than 30% of original). However, the pixel count on the 1Ds II compensated to some degree. These are amazing birds to watch and after 3 months they are reasonably tolerant of me at this stage. I just need to get out more and get better shots. To catch a food pass in good light is the top target for me with these birds.

hello - I must confess to preferring the second crop - I'm never too keen on a vertical crop for a flying bird, the second shot is good.
cheers

I too prefer the second, there is less noise in the sky and a better comp.
