Shot this in Yellowstone last Friday. I'm not a big abstract fan, but i like this one. Will post more on my website once i get time to process. C/C welcome. Thanks for looking!

I agree, the second one really hit the spot.

#2 is my favorite as well. Nice!

The ripples and sunlight are beautiful on #2 - an unusual and pretty shot.

At this size #2 really works for me too, but I see what appeals to you about #1. I think printed larger it would have more impact. Good eye on these.

As everyone so far has said #2 is the more mature composition. While both are abstract, I think there still needs to be something thatcentrally pulls the eye in in the composition. #1 while I know what I am looking at, I don't quite get why and it does not emotionally connect for me. #2 has elements I am emotional about right off #1 being the water and two the bright contrasting colors. Over all #2 is a far more interesting image. Well done.

Maybe vignetting the second one would help keep the eye on the page, its my fav too.

These are nice, Amy! I do like #2 better than #1, but I think #1 is interesting. I think you'll find yourself shooting more and more of these types of shots...finding patterns and shapes within the larger scene can be a lot of fun!

Another vote for number two, which I think might also work really well as a black & white.

Thanks for the comments! i think i'll try to rework both and see what i can come up with. I'm not much of a Photoshopper so i'm somewhat limited.

I like 'em both and appreciate the abstractness of #1 + the rare color in nature of acid green. Nice work.

I really like the color and the pattern of the water in the second image. The first one is very abstract.
