As this week my new toys (the Canon MPE 65mm + Canon MT 24 EX TWin Flash) arrived one of the things i had in mind to photograph with them where Aphids. This afternoon i had an hour spare time so i decided to give them a try.
Not hard to find but very hard to get a decent shot of a subject that's only 1mm in length..
Shot this at 5 times lifesize and amd quite pleased with the results being the first time i went out with this difficult to master lens.

Great for a first time effort. Good detail and BG.
A great effort with the new gear Jeroen. I feel another visit to Warehouse Express coming on.
In the past I was involved in the production of virus free plant material. This involved excluding insects like this. As they move from plant to plant and puncture the leaves with there proboscis they transmit viruses which reduce crop yields. Some ornamental dwarf plants are nolonger dwarf when they are virus free!
nicely done Jeroen, I look forward to seeing more shots from you with this lens. Good technique here and it looks like you've placed the DOF perfectly (assuming this isn't stacked).
Thanks for your comments so far!
To Matt: This was not stacked but the extra lights on the MT 24 EX do a great job when you are looking for accurate focus.
Did some more macro's with this set up today and starting to love it more and more...
