Rejuvenation
I was able to get out during the middle of last week to see some of the wildflowers popping up in different regions of Colorado. In addition to some I posted yesterday in the forum's new wildflower reports thread, I thought I'd share a few more. First, another image of the flowers covering the hillsides of the Hayman burn zone.

I stopped by Royal Gorge for a photo.

This is one I took of some wild iris with a ladybug in Pike National Forest about ten miles outside of Eleven Mile State Park. The ladybugs were all over the place.

A rainbow I was able to capture in the Wet Mountains outside of Westcliffe.

Finally, another image of the flower patch outside of Westcliffe which Bob and Todd also posted about last week. This was right after sunrise with some interesting warm light before the sun disappeared into the clouds for several hours.

Those are all so diverse and OUTSTANDING, Joshua! I think the foreground saturation in the last one is a bit strong, but that's it. Your Royal Gorge shot is better than any one I've seen, and the ladybug on the iris is icing on the proverbial cake.

Awesome work, dude. I love the shot with the ladybug.

Agree the Royal Gorge shot has so much of depth to it!

These are all nice but the Iris w/ ladybug is outstanding. :toast:

Great shots, Joshua! I really like the iris shot, too. The ladybugs seem to be abundant this year!

Really nice Joshua. Thanks for sharing.

Joshua, that lady bug made a nice pose for you. Wonderful work. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome stuff, Joshua! I like all of them but the iris/ladybug is my fav. The last one would be equal to the iris if the reds weren't blown out. Sure would like to see it again, but toned down.

Love them all Joshua but the bug gets my vote!

A great series - all strong images, Josh. Although I love the ladybug, I'll go with the Hayman burn/penstemon shot. The title is perfect!

Another fan of the iris with the ladybug!
Cool color combos. I would desaturate or darken the green background some so as to provide a bit more contrast with the flower.

Got some good stuff here Joshua. Looks like the lady -n- iris will sell given the broad appeal. The first is also really nice and goes very well with the thread title.

Really great stuff Josh. :toast: :toast:

A very nice collection. These are all excellent in their own way (although the saturation could be toned down in the last as already noted). You had a very productive trip.

Great series Josh. #3 and #4 are especially sweet.

Wow, this is truly great stuff, i really really like that ladybug shot and the Westcliffe flowers, but they all rock!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I actually agree about the saturation on the final shot (me thinking something is too saturated, go figure!) My D300 records reds as particularly vivid even on the 'normal' color setting. The image looks good on a couple of monitors I've viewed it on, but very contrasty on a couple others. Can't wait for the alpine zones to start blooming.
