Grasslands Cottonwood
I've made a ritual of visiting the Pawnee Grasslands at least once a year for some time and finally made it out a couple of days ago. I was too late for much of a wildflower show, and probably can't brag much about the drama from this simple cottonwood. The grasses were just amazing and as tall and robust as I can ever remember.

It's a beautifully simple and poetic grassland image. Thanks for posting this.

Dave took the words simple and poetic right out of my brain!

This is every bit as striking as a wildflower shot and represents yet another important feature of the grasslands. Nobody plants like Mother Nature. Beautiful shot Roger!

I like this, Roger. The warm light on the trunk is great. How about a B&W conversion too?

Its a fine shot Dave. The clean sky, and warm/cool contrasts are very refreshing.
