A lot of floral prints, especially of a single flower look much better in a square crop. The problem is finding a square cut mat to mount them. I checked several on line sources, and nobody lists a 5x5 mat, unless I want to special order a few hundred. Does anyoune know of a source to order a batch of 10 or so?

I've used

http://bulkmats.matcutter.com/

for regularly cut mats and have been happy with them. I think their minimum custom cut mat order size is 25, but I haven't looked at them in a while.

They also have precut 8"x8" with a 5x5 opening in color you want, as long as it is white. MAybe other square sizes as well.

Not knowing your needs, have you considered cutting the mats yourself? The size which you are looking at is not too unwieldy. If you will be doing a lot of odd sizes or different color mats, this might be the route to go.

Check out Documounts: http://www.documounts.com/content/home

I ahve been using thier market ready kits for about 2 years. They also do custom cuts and have many frame sizes and styles available. Can't beat the price either!

+1 framedestination. $2.50 custom set up fee (applies to the first one only). They may stock squares I don't know. Excellent product at a great price.

I'm on the Frame Destination bandwagon as well. They offer a huge selection of mat sizes at very decent prices. The more you order, the more you save. Another hidden bonus with them, is that their shipping packaging is second to none. After a few big orders through them I have enough bubble wrap, plastic and cardboard boxes to last me a long time for my photo shipping needs. I think they also give a first-timers discount just for registering with them. Its only 10 percent or so, but better than a poke in the eye.

American Frame (www.americanframe.com) will cut mats and mounting board in custom sizes in quantities as small as five (if not ordering a frame) or as small as one (if you order a frame). Good source for frames, too.

Greg,

I have used pictureframes.com for my custom framing and matting and have been very happy with the results. You can upload a small version of your photo, specify the actual print dimensions, select the matting & frames and see a preview of what it would look like before you order. I tried a few of these type of sites but this one was the only one where the mat selection colors were quite accurate on screen compared to what arrived in the mail. Prices are very reasonable, it's easy to use and the quality has been very good.
