Last week I was in Rocky Mountain National Park. I have only lived in Colorado for five years but I cannot imagine RMNP to be more green or filled with flowers. It was a great week. Here is a shooting star I thought was nice.

This big bull was feeding near the road and cooperated nicely while I "shot" him.

I wore out my knees shooting macros of flowers. It took quite a few tries before I got a dew drop to stay put long enough to shoot it. It rained several nights while I was there making for nice, dew covered grass and flowers the next morning.
As for the first shot, I do like the colors and the balance of the composition, but I personally don't find these flowers to be particularly photogenic in this orientation, especially with the left-side flower being out of focus on the bottom (probably intentional, but not my taste for this shot). Also, I think the background blur is a bit distracting here.
The elk and the droplet shots are fantastic!

These globe flowers were near Emerald Lake. I never saw so many mosquitoes. I think they drink Off.
Bill, for most of my macro work, I use a Nikon 60mm macro lens. I have owned it for over 15 years. I mount the camera on a Manfrotto tripod, the kind with the post that pulls out and goes horizontal if you want. I then get down and push that camera up as close as I can get and fire away. I want to get a focusing rail as that would make the job of moving in and out a good deal simpler and less likely to disturb the plant and dew drops. Oh, I almost forgot to mention knee pads. I have the kind that REI sells for ski racers. They are great and absolutely essential for this kind of work.
Very nice set. The dew drops reminds me of Peterson's shot in "understanding exposure". Would have liked to see the flowers in the drop a little more centered, but a minor nit. Saw many globes as well on the way up to Mills yesterday during a family hike. And the mosquitoes were think up there as well. Looks like they are enjoying the cool wet weather as well.
