Reworking an Older Image
I've gone back to a few images from both my film and early digital shooting days and changed how I handle them in PhotoShop. I've gone to the less is more work ethic and I'd like to know your thoughts. This from a trip I took down to the San Juan's near Silver Jack Res.

Beautiful composition James, the dark background really makes the Columbine stand out. Maybe just me, but I think you could take out a little yellow, I might also me be tempted to crop to a 4 x 5 format starting just below that brighter oof spot above the columbine.

I agree with Nick, it does seem to have a touch of yellow -- of course if you may have caught the "golden light" on this shot. I think the crop would be worth a try as well. The composition and DOF look really good to me, looks perfect.

Well then this worked as planned. The yellow you see is from a Gold Reflector. There wasn't a need to white balance as this was shot on Fujichrome Velvia 5iso and scanned by Slideprinters back in 2000. Yup like I said it was a old shot. Now how about this one?

I like the composition of this last one much better than the first. I like the shot of the first one but too much in the center for my taste. Also, the bright white on the first image towards the top and bottom my eye keeps drifting between them instead of the columbine.

I agree with Tim about the comp. I like the second one much better, it has some interesting colors too. Does it seem a little dark though?
