ok! I give in.
Whilst out this morning looking for buff tails caught this one but as hard as I try I fail to get the ID any takers?

Wow! I photographed one this morning here in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan. I too would like an ID if possible. Your image has a great comp and BG. Very nice indeed.

looks like a Chrysoteuchia culmella to me, but I'm no expert, just a beginner. Its a gret shot, looks like its just hanging there wai8ting for someone to come and help it up.
