Rocky today
Nick Moore and I had a very early start today and attempted to shoot Long's Peak at sunrise from the Ute Trail! Rain in Estes didn't dampen our spirits and we were lucky to get a decent sunrise.

Only nit was that Long's was feeling shy and refused to show her face.

I'll post this image from Tombstone Ridge and a bird pic from lower down in the park and leave room for Nick to post his excellent landscapes.

After dawn we went down and hunted out some Violet Green Swallows and Williamson's Sapsuckers, phew what a mouthful! Speaking of which this sapsucker is carrying out the trash!

I'm glad nothing appeared out of the animal burrows in/around the first shot you have above, that rock was a nice find!!. The sapsucker turned out real nice too, nice how you caught some movement in the wings!.

How in the world did you get that rock up there and keep it balanced like that??? Nice shots, both.
