On July 1, I became officially retired from my fire service job at Columbia College! The college has hired me as a 'retiree' for a few hours per week so that some coordination and tasks that need to be accomplished can be done. The bottom line is that I'll now have more time to devote to all aspects of my photography, including being more of a presence here at CANP.
I know I haven't been around much, and I regret the leadership vacuum, and the extra load placed upon Paul, that my absence created. I have simply been very occupied with a major construction project at my new fire house, college committee work, my music, and my bride. It's all great stuff, but has kept me hopping, and so I was forced to seriously prioritize; something I think we all understand.
Well, now I'm back! I will do my best to provide the leaderhip you all deserve, and with Paul's excellent and dedicated help, we'll work to ensure that our forum continues to be a great resource and gathering place for all of us.
I deeply appreciate all of you for your participation and your dedication! You're a great group!
I have to say, this is really good news for me personally to hear. All around not just from a NPN and CANP perspective, but the fact that you are finally able to get a bit more freedom to enjoy photography once again. I'm sincerely glad that you are back.
As you're aware I was a bit wrapped around the axle myself for the last year, and especially the last 6 months with my father before he passed away. But, as always life keeps moving ahead one way or another. We can talk off line about some catch up items whenever you have the time, just let me know
Welcome Back Preston - you've been missed. More importantly, congratulations on the Big R! I know you have plans and I suspect retirement isn't going to slow you down!
Congrats on the retirement, if you're like I imagine I will be those many years from now, you'll be even busier now!

Welcome back Preston, life always needs it's balance. Glad you're finding yours.
Hope you get a chance soon to post some of your latest work. I do remember holding your porfolio not too long ago and your collection was pretty impressive. Throw in all just one exposure and it becomes even more impressive.
Thanks for your 'welcome back' everyone! I really appreciate your comments.
Honestly, I haven't done much photography lately, as I've been concentrating on my music. However, now that that I have more free time, and am inspired by all the great work I'm seeing here, I'm ready to burn some film!
I'll be headed into the mountains on Friday for a few days, so Paul will be minding the store.
