Fantastic interaction here! You must have been very close - what an experience! I've only seen one at distance, but I wonder if it might be a little bright as posted?

Hello and thanks for your comments.

I have now darkened it slightly and hope you find it better.

Hi, Ian the camera was place between a Siver birch tree which forked, and a bag hide was placed over the camera. Which was then pre focused and fired useing a remote.

Thanks for that Guy - interesting to here the setup. I do prefer the second post.

Guy, I can see that this is a tough shot - what with bright light and chick in the shadow. Recovering the darker area has made the shot a little washed-out, but 2nd is definately better.

I also prefer the 2nd shot Guy, and I'm impressed by your remote set-up. I'm glad this was taken remotely, I'm always slightly uneasy about nest shots. Nice work.

Nice work Guy although I do find that where there has been recovery of the 'hot-spots' it does look a little 'muddy' . I had exactly the same problem as they nest under the canopy and during months when the sun is very bright in the BG making exposure a complete nightmare.. Maybe a slightly more overcast day is a more suitable bet..?
