Damselfly (teneral common blue?) + repost
Sorry, I don't really know my damselflies. This was taken this evening in a lucky spell when the wind dropped a bit.

1D mkII
Sigma 150mm
1/250th
ISO 800
Hand held
Minimal crop

Any C&C welcome.

Thanks

Tim
I'm not 100% sure but Ithink it is,
Good to see someone else using 800 ISO !
Little bit frame filling but good stuff.

I like the muted colour in this one Tim, and the perch & pose work well.

Oops, looking at this at wotk, I think I've saved this in the wrong colour space. Either that or my new monitor at home needs drastic recalibration.

Hi Tim,

Inspite of the fact you may have posted in the wrong colour space this is a nice image of an immature (teneral) female Common Blue.

Yep you have:wink: , but I'm using firefox with colour space enabled, and it looks much better than when I open it in IE8.

In IE8 it looks dark and washed out, but in firefox it looks brighter and a rich goldeness about it, not too sure if thats a bit of cloning residue I see around its head or just jpg compression artifacts.

But a nice sharp picture.

Really nice work but could do with that colour space adjustment for us to really appreciate it. A tad more room an the bottom would be good just to give a bit more room to the seed head frons.

Here's the repost converted to sRGB. Monitor calibration hardware coming soon so hopefully that will help too.

Thanks for all your comments - appreciated. Danielle, there's a lot of 'hair on the head' but I can't see a halo. The wider more gold area around the front of the body is just OOF grass or other plant material in the background. John, I agree it's a bit tight. I cropped it to show the damsel better at this size.

The second image is much better on my monitors using IE8. I'm a fan of tight framing so it certainly works for me. Excellent.
