Lesser-Black-Back

I haven't been that active with a camera lately, by daughter (20months), work, and other committments eating away at my time.

That said I recently got to the Isle of May of what should have been a week, I'll expand later, and got the camera into action.

Lesser Black Backed Gull against Sorrel in evening light.

a nice portrait Tom helped by the nicely lit sorrel in the bg.

I can certainly relate to the problem of young children and work getting in the way of photography...

Really like the colours here and the proud stance of the bird. Great control of lighting and DOF.. Works very well for me.

the very striking colour to the background really pushes the bird to the front of the image.
lovely shot.

Boom that image just leaps out at you. Fantastic job Tom, the background is exceptional and really presents the subject.

Glad you have managed to get out with the camera... very nice and as said the bg makes it pop.... perhaps a touch tight, but that is apersonal preference...

Good to see you posting again Tom.
Very, very nice indeed and what a gorgeous backdrop that is. As John says, it presents the bird very well.
