Thanks to the folks who resolved my last color issue. Now I have to ask for your help again.
My recent post, Colorful Dream, looked a bit contrasty and too colorful after I reviewed it. So, I downloaded a copy of the image and in CS4 compared it to the original. They look the same, meaning they look correct. But when I compare the online image to the CS4 image, they look quite different. I know IE and Firefox aren't color managed (at least the older versions) but I've never seen my images appear this different between PS and a browser. I've done this comparison before as a sanity check and things have always looked really close. I saved the uploaded image in sRGB. Any thoughts on this would be very much appreciated.

If it helps, I use Safari and I didn't think your Colorful Dream image was contrasty or too colorful, it looked quite natural to me. The images I have posted all match very close to the original files.
I had the same problem years ago with colors and found out what worked for me after LOTS of tinkering. When you have the image in photoshop, click on "view", then "proof setup", and then "monitor rgb". Once I did this and adjusted the colors from there, they look VERY close to what I see on the web once uploaded. Not sure if it'll work in your case but it can't hurt to try.
I think the problem with proofing it with monitor rgb is that you're only proofing it for *your* monitor. You're not proofing it for everyone else's monitors (and other people's monitors are what you want to optimize the images for for the web). Since most monitors are close to sRGB, I've found it's best to just convert to sRGB in Photoshop and make sure it looks good in Photoshop, *not* in your browser. That way your photos will be optimized for *most* monitors, just not yours. Another option is to enable color management in Firefox (you can Google how to do it) and make sure to embed the sRGB profile in your image. Then Photoshop and Firefox should show the images the same.
Ditto Grant's approach. Someday soon, all browsers will be ICC compliant. Seems like a new monitor, new calibration, browser upgrade, etc. can sometimes throw you off.
