Great detail there David, the fly really stands out well against that leaf. Nice one!

Cheers,

Lewis.

I like this one very much for its comp, detail and colours, but I do think it could stand some more contrast as it looks a tad washed out on my screen.

Really nice, perhaps a little more contrast :toast:

Really very nice detail and comp on this image but have to agree with Eric that it does look a little washed out so a quick tweak in PS will soon have that fly popping off the screen.

Excellent stuff.
I agree a litttle more contrast - not much.
A very minor nit too - if only the back leaf edge had been up a bit higher behind the wing tip.
Say camera up a fraction. That really is nit picking to the extreme though!

A fine close-up image. Just a slight increase in contrast, as mentioned, would add the finishing touch.

David, sorry but the lighting doesn't look right plus the fact that there aren't any shadows, to give "structure" to the image.

Otherwise an excellent piece of macro work, the detail is astounding.

A tad flat but a good shot with wonderful detail.

Interestingly, after dragging the image in PS the contrast levels are higher than the shot as posted. I see the image is srgb but you may want to check your method for saving for the web/uploading.
There are also one or two dust bunnies.
The shot just needs a tweak with the contrast and its there, nice one.

Thanks for your comments everyone. Here is an amended version to the best of my limited abilities. Tony, what is the 'best' method for web uploading?

David second one looks ok but on a personnel note may have just given the main subject a boost and left the rest if you see what I mean. :toast:

Hi David,

I had a quick tweak for you and found that it seems to be a factor of 'saving to web' rather than converting to profile as described by others during recent posts. Here is a quick adjustment I did using B&C, S&H & USM..

See what you think..

Cheers Brett. Looks much better. What is the best way to 'save for web' ?

in PS - Once you have finished all your processing then in the Edit menu, choose 'Convert to Profile' and then sRGB. Next - go to the File menu - Save as - Give your file a name and JPEG extension and save to where you can access it for upload to this site remembering to use the slider to reduce the file size to less than 200Kb.

Hope that makes sense..

Kind regards,

Brett
