Sundowner

Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) at sundown.

Canon EOS 1Ds2, 500/f4, WH2 + Gitzo 1548.
Manual exposure mode and metering: f20, 1/250, iso 100.
RAW image processed in Capture One; sharpened in Photoshop CS4, full frame.

I’m preparing some images for an exhibition and I thought I would share this one. Shot last year as part of an on-going project. With the small aperture I was trying to see if I could obtain a sun-burst of sorts.

Really very nice Phil. I think I would have liked him a little smaller in the frame but that really is a personal choice as it's a strong image. I would have liked to see a little more tail but I'm sure you get what you can in this situation and the colours and rim-lighting are very nice.

Kind regards and good luck with the exhibition, Maybe we should have a post on the forum telling us where and when people are holding their exhibitions.

I thought it was a wolf! Beautiful image overall. I agree it might be a little large in frame, but the lighting is just gorgeous.

Stunning image, can't fault it, like Ian, thought it was a wolf!

Superbly dramatic shot with wonderful colours. If you could have got him to howl like a wolf, that would have been the icing on the cake!
