Not been out as often as I would like but sitting by a little owl site this barn owl did a fly by. Ten minutes later on my way home with light all but gone; there he/she was posing. Shot from the car window. Not sure about the crop.

Composition works perfectly for me, as does the setting. The only small nit is the catchlight in the birds right eye which looks a little wierd, although I know this can often be the case depending on the light and setting.
A very nice portrait though, regardless of the catchlight.
A very fortuitous encounter Bob. Composition is fine, though I agree a little extra on top would balance it a bit better. I love the 'tatty' perch and dark background and, for me. the flat lighting has really given the image that dusky feeling and shows the detail in the plumage that lifts the picture to another level. I really like this, nice one.
Really like the composition here with the branch from the bottom left corner leading into the owl. Gorgeous colours on the bird too. I think the only constructive comment I would make is that the small angled branch on the bottom right corner rather catches my eye so maybe this could be removed.

Very nice and like the setting, but would agree about getting rid of the sitck bottom right.
