Anybody been up to Hurricane Ridge at Olympic National Park recently? I want to do a trip soon and wonder if the Glacier/Avalanche lillies are good now.
I was up there on the 27th of June. The road is in good condition, and the glacier lillies were out in the Hurricane Ridge area. That would tend to mean that you would need to head out along the Obstruction Point road to still be able to get good photos of the lillies. There are some sloping meadows higher up along that road where the lillies are a few weeks behind the ones at the Ridge itself.
Later in the season the Obstruction Point road is the way to go for finding the marmots, too.
Thanks, guys. I'm heading out this afternoon for several days of wandering around the Olympic Peninsula. Low tides on the coast the next couple of days then up to Hurricane Ridge. If anyone else is headed that way and wants to hook up, my cell is 541-510-770.

Follow-up, in case anyone else is headed that way:
Avalanche lilies are fading but there are still some nice pockets of them in north-facing shaded areas along Obstruction Point Road. Lupine and Paintbrush and assorted other mountain meadow flowers are doing nicely all over the Hurricane Ridge area, but no big masses of color. Lots of deer around the visitor center, including fawns and young bucks in velvet.
