Opalessence
You saw Steve's pano from this lake and this morning a bit ago.. my favorite take from the spot was this one. Thoughts? I really enjoy the light white/blues, they reminded me of opal, hence the name.

A very admirable abstract, Floris.

Very nice Floris, removing the black parts really does help out the scene. I like all the shades of color between blue and gold.

Floris, I always enjoy seeing well captured abstracts such as this one. Very nice work.

This is cool, Floris. I like the abstract.

You can call it the UCLA abstract, it has just about the right colors.

A beautiful abstract. The warm and cool tones are balanced very nicely. The patterms have a nice flow, keeping the eye moving around the image.

Great abstract Floris! Overall I wouldn't mind seeing bump in contrast (most notably in the midtones) to really bring out those awesome patterns and shapes.

This is pretty sweet, Floris. I'm digging the colors and shapes.

This is really sweet, Floris. I love a great abstract. I agree with Greg that a touch more contrast in the midtones would really make this pop.

OT: I lived in Pasadena, and graduated from Pasadena HS...in 1966. One of my early climbing friends was a glaciolgist at CalTech. Small world.

Thanks folks! I know what you mean about the contrast, I tried it, and in the end I liked the soft ethereal 'opal' look of the lower contrast.

I'm looking at this on a crappy laptop, so I hesitate to comment on the contrast. But the general shapes and colors look very well crafted. Well seen and captured!
