Does anyone have any experience with AT&T Wireless coverage in the more rural areas of Western NC,SC, and VA. I've been thinking of switching but looking at there coverage map it may not be a very good idea?

Thanks
Carson

Carson I have AT&T and it's pretty much useless in VA along the KY VA border. Once I get away from the state borders though it does ok. As far as NC and SC I can't offer any help.

Carson, I don't know who you have service with right now, but I think you'll find most carriers are the same in that respect. Verizon has excellent service in most areas, but even they show spotty coverage in the western part of those states. I'm assuming it's because of the mountains.

I have alltel at the moment but they were just bought by verizon who I used to have. I guess it's a crap shoot either way.

Thanks

Carson, if you now have Verizon, try updating your roaming capabilities by dialing *228. That should help somewhat. I try to update mine monthly, as suggested by Verizon.

I travel all theses arears. With ATT coverage is spotty. I have a booster built into my vehicle. Use of a booster voids the warranty on the phone. I have never had any problems with mine so far. So its woth it to me.

Thanks for the responses. For now I'll stick with alltel/verizon. I'll be up in that area for 10 days or so and see how it goes before I make a switch.
