I like these shots Tim, very nice colours and like the 'looking' out into space look  just enough catchlight to give the puffin alittle 'life'. Nice shot   :wavey:

Hello Tim.

This work really well for me, and made all the better as we can . still see some detail in the Puffin. I dont think it wold have been so nice with out the detail.

Really like your use of light here, Tim; as Guy says, it wouldn't be so nice without the detail in the face.

Just wondered about the comp - maybe the bird a little higher in the frame? Plenty of room a the top for a magazine title!! Just think it would benefit from a little more room for the feet.
Anyway, lovely light and a different treatment for the species.
Cheers,
Chris

Yes I think it works for me too however the 'bleed' of the dark colours of the back of the bird just lead straight into the FG and wonder if the image was taken a short time before (assuming end of day) you might have picked up a bit more detail in the lower part of the bird as well..? Not much is needed but just something to offer a little more form from the FG.
