I dont usually post shots of captive birds, but i liked the intense look in the kites eyes.

Just pulling out from a steep dive

D2X and 300mm f4.

Nice capture indeed, captive or otherwise. Funny for me it works better flipped on the horizontal axis. Can't say why but I think it might give a stronger sense of flying into the frame, maybe just my own taste I guess.. Good eye detail.
