I shot this in June "06. I was at Eagle Bluffs with a different lens on the camera when I drove past this pond and saw the fawns. I quickly changed lenses and started shooting to capture what I could. I didn't take the time to check the settings because I was hurrying to catch the shot while I could. That my excuse and I'm sticking to it.....
I like the reflection in the water. Too bad that the leaf got in the way. I guess you didn't get to wait them out so that both were along the water at the same time? They just don't cooperate do they?
The leaf is a little distracting, but it's hard to beat a picture of two fawns. Great job just getting a shot off without spooking them, Merle. Thanks for sharing.
When I shot this I was on a dirt road looking down at the pond and trying to shoot with my p/u still running and the door wide open. I didn't want to make any unnecessary noise to spook them. However, after getting off three shots the mom sensed my presence and they were history. It's not the best shot on the board - just a fun one. Thanks for the comments.

They learn what they need to know quickly don't they? Here they are still in "spots" and already at the drinking pool. A nice moment Merle, I'm glad you were there to record it. Thanks for sharing.
Looks like a pair of twins. I am told by those who know that twins are actually quite common among deer. They deliver a single fawn for their first pregnancy and then tend to deliver twins thereafter. I just photographed a young pair at a friend's stables the other day.
