South Colony Creek
Last night, well after the sun went down, the clouds were still picking up some of the awesome color of the sunset.

And this morning South Colony Creek was reflecting alpenglow light off the face of Crestone Needle. It got really windy overnight, so my reflection plans took a hit, but whatever...

That first one just rocks! The colored clouds streaking by put it well over the top. And in the second one, you just made some sweet lemonade with the windy condition lemons you were given. Love the color in the water.

Nice. I love #1, the slow shutter speed makes it really work. The nice thing about that area is if the winds come up and mess with the lake reflections you still have a couple of waterfalls to choose from. This is on my list again for a return visit. How was the road up there?

That first one is incredible! It is now my favorite image that I've seen from there.

Mighty fine TC! Is this the volcanic sunset color I've been hearing about?

I love that first one. There is a sort of alternating pinwheel effect in the foreground that's very pleasing. Looks like the flowers are doing well up there, too.

Cheers,

Great images Todd! Love the clouds in the first one. Very dynamic.
Your 2nd one is pretty cool too. Well composed.

Both of these are really nice but that first one is freakin' killer, dude!

Yep, I really like the first one Todd. I keep going back for another look.

Todd, you should have posted the really nice #2 separately so it didn't have to compete with incredible #1. That is one awesome shot.

Excellent work, amigo!
Your patience and persistance always seems to pay off.

Love 'em! I actually like the second shot a little more than the first, but they are both great. Looks like a great area and some nice light!

Wow, love that first one. The subtly colored clouds streaking in all directions is awesome.

Wow that first one is sweet, that is a Calendar contender I'd say!.

WOW! Like both, but LOVE the first one....The colors of the clouds in the sky make the image Todd. Terrific stuff!

Love the subtle coloration of the clouds which match the wonderful color on the Needle, and the waterfall serves as a beautiful anchor to the whole comp! Beautiful flow to the 2nd shot with excellent floral borders to keep the eye captive. The green vegetation looks beautfiully fresh, like after a nice rainfall. Awesome stuff, Todd.

#2 is sweet. The comp and color on #1 is great, but I'm just not a big fan of motion blur clouds.

I think #1 would be killer...if you could tone down the strong water highlites a bit. The centered comp bugs me a bit, but the sky is so cool it would overcome that minor nit. Dont know how you processed it, but it might have been a cool to combine a faster exposure on the water with the long one for the sky. As it stands, i like #2 better, better comp, better exposure, better color. Great stuff overall.

#1 rocks, tops among shots of the Crestones! Although more subtle, the 2nd is beautifully crafted.

Love the colors and dynamics! This place is high on my list. How was the road?

Dude thats all you got! Friggin sweet! By the time the sun had set for me the clouds were all gone for the most part.

Just like the other posters, #1 is fantastic. The only question is if there is any improvement if slightly rotated to the left?
