are you now diffusing the flash David? The lighting looks better here. Good detail in the fly and the droplets, a slight shame the fly is facing out of the frame, but that's a fairly minor point. A nice shot.
Now he's taken on to much loved both of these photo's David, only wished this fly was facing you as it would work better IMO, very nice photo's

Yes Matt, with a bit of plastic bag over the right hand flash tube and choosing a time when the sunlight was diffused by white cloud. Having to get in so close with the 50mm lens the fly kept turning away from me but didn't take off. This was the best I could get at the time.
Thanks very much for your valued input, and you too Craig.
The detail in this is superb! I'm not much into macro (yet) but I think this would look great as an abstract without the fly!! Look forward to seeing more like this.

Thanks Ian. The Sigma SD14 has been much maligned, but its Foveon chip is capable of excellent results with the right lens, and the photographer ignoring it's so-called limitations. Looking forward to the SD15 when it appears and who knows maybe a FF
camera?

Nit covered, the detail in both the fly and raiindrops is amazing. Your hard work with these guys is paying off nicely. Great stuff.
