Anyone use this software? I'm intrigued by it and if it works as advertised it could make complicated PS work much less so. If you've used it I'd be interested in hearing your opinions - good, bad or indifferent.

Thanks!

Indifferent.

I have Viveza but I don't use it very much. Don't get me wrong, Viveza is a pretty slick piece of software and I like their control point interface. It works well for some images but I find things like luminosity masks and such are better suited to my Photoshop working style.

Doesn't Nik have a 30 day demo download? Why not give it a try?

Cheers,

Nik Viveza. Wasn't he married to Jessica Simpson at one point?

Showalter has raved to me about this software in the past. Hopefully he'll pipe in with an opinion.

I think that the targeted adjustments and HSL controls in ACR/Lightroom do plenty of the work that Viveza does, while Tony Kuyper's Luminosity Mask Curve Adjustment Layers used along with layer masking pull up the rest of the slack.

Like the man says, the 30 day free trial will tell you whether or not you find the investment worthwhile.

I have it and have used it. Takes a little while to get the hang of it but it works very well. If you have Lightroom2, there is a similar target adjustment button in the develop area.

I demo'd it. Ended up sticking with LR adjustments and TK masks. Although I absolutely love the control point technology ... use it frequently in Silver Efex.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll demo it when I return from the San Juans. Sounds like it could go either way...

there is a reason why LR/Adbobe teamed up with Nik. Compared to Nik technology TAT in LR sucks. Plain and simple. However you have actions written, got Tony's masks then much of the work can be replicated in PS easily.

I use Viveza and love it. Straightforward and easy to use. Generally, I do my RAW conversion in Aperture, run a workflow in CS4, then make final adjustments in Viveza. It's all pretty fast. I'm no Caudle/Speer/Brauer/Coalson with CS4, so Viveza is a huge help!
