For those of you who were following the earlier posts about helping Nat Coalson replace his not-so-waterproof 5D2, the final tally is in, and the total amount collected for Nat was a whopping $1125! (And we didn't even make him strip down and don a scuba mask and flippers at 12,000 feet! Longtime CNPers will know what I'm talking about.) Thank you everyone, you guys and gals are awesome! This forum is the poster child for what a community of like-minded individuals should be.
i am very glad to have found this forum (through CAZ) years ago. Everyone is helpful and friendly (even to a non-rocky mountain dweller). Nat- we expect to see some serious action out of you and your new camera!
Yes, this was truly a mind-blowing kind of event. The amount of support I've received on this has been phenomenal. And the contributions to my replacement-camera-fund have made a really big difference in my ability to re-equip in a relatively short period of time.
I have an insurance proposal from Hill & Usher in play now, too. They have been great to work with. This coming week I will submit my equipment inventory and get the final policy in place.
Never again will equipment damage cause such turmoil in my life!
My deepest gratitude to all who contributed. This really is one fine group of folks.
