Osprey on Nest
1D2n, 600mm f4 is x1.4, 1/320s, f7.1, iso 400. Portable hide. Sun just breaking through cloud.

One from this morning. I've been watching this nest for several weeks now (with a licence)and thankfully it appears to have been very successful, with three chicks. I have only managed a handful of decent shots, as it has proved difficult to get good conditions and free time together. Here, nothing had been happening in the hour preceding this shot, then dad arrived with a fish for breakfast.I suspect they will have fledged by the time I return. It's been great to see it develop.

It would have been nice to see the fish and the chicks, but still an excellent image portraying another story altogether, like 'What's been going on here while I've been out working?' for example.

Hi Ian,

I've only ever seen an Osprey from distance, so this must have been very special, like the wing position of the incoming male, nice capture.

A cracking image Ian, and one to be proud of. Great pose and glint in the eye.

difficult environment to work with as the nest could so easily clutter the picture but you have got the focus and attention well on the bird, nice to see the other interacting also.

A bit up and under in terms of perspective but good action and pose.

Hi Ian,

I love the pose here and the way the youngster is looking on.
A fine subject to have in your collection too.
