Hi all~ Wanted to post an open invitation for any RMNPers who would like to join me in the Crested Butte area starting next weekend. I'll be there July 17th-25th (friends won't be there with gear until 18th) camping with some friends. Most of them aren't photogs (although i have another photog friend droping by around the 21st) so i'd love some company to shoot spots around CB (i've been there several times and am getting tired of shooting the same locations) and perhaps a day trip to YBB/AB. My crew has 2 ATVs so we will likely take the Devil's Punchbowl from Paradise Basin to Marble and get a few shots of the mill late in the afternoon.
The plan for now is to camp along Slate River Road at the base of Oh-Be-Joyful trail, but that may change if someone is already camped in my spot. When i find a spot i'll try to repost on here so you can find us.
We'll also have movies and adult beverages at our camp site (no primitive camping for this gal) so feel free to drop in for a chat if you're in the area.
no idea what i'm driving yet- a compact rental from Enterprise. I will post on Friday when i pick it up. Richie V may go on Friday (depending on work schedule) so you're always welcome to caravan down with us.
we'll also have a poker table!

I sure wish I could be there; I am leading a workshop around Aspen that weekend, and can't make it to CB during the time you will be there.
Ironic that we will only be a mountain range away - but we all know how significant that can be ;-)
If anyone is coming through Aspen 25-27 July drop a line; we'll be doing the icons in the area and are always happy to see fellow NPNers!
And hopefully we can meet around CB Mon-Tue the following week.

Hi Amy! Glad you're getting a chance to come out this summer! Unfortunately, I won't make it any farther from Denver than a day trip to Mt. Goliath next weekend, but have fun and happy shooting. Our wet spring has made this an exceptional year--you should have a great time.

I'll actually be working at Schofield pass next Tuesday - sampling soils for the Snotel site there. Tough job, but someone has to do it.
I'll hopefully be at one of the campgrounds up the Gothic road with the fam starting Sunday the 19th thru Wednesday. I'll try to stop and say howdy or possibly run into ya'll at some point.
